After a gap of four years, I found retaining German quite difficult. I tried my level best but I did not have any one to speak to. I was posted in South East Asian country where Malay was being spoken. There was no use clinging on and refining German language. I started picking up Malay and did well to learn a few words and sentences that I could use.
