Mothers are loved more than fathers but too much is expected from them. They are supposed to be the ones providing food for their kids and not the fathers. Keeping the home clean to waking up the kids to keeping them clean is the mother's responsibility here in India. A mother automatically has 2 more kids: her husband and the house, which is her responsibility. Even if she is working woman, she has to go through this. And if she fails at just one thing among all this, she is judged very harshly, making her feel emotionally weak and lonely. These are strongly biased with my life and Indians in general. But every family is different. At the end it boils down to who has been better to you. Whom do you connect with more. Who treats you with respect, and as an individual and who babies you and treats as a part of you, who judges and belittles you extensively and who listens to you intently, who is narcissistic and who is selfless. It's you who should decide which is more important for you.
