Everything was so clean. Everybody was so pleasant. The supermarkets were filled with cheap, fresh, good-quality vegetables and fruit. There was so much space everywhere, such large houses for everybody (even poor people; at that time there didn’t seem to be any homeless people), such huge areas of untouched bush to walk in. The children were visibly healthier. Everybody was so relaxed, so caring, so thoughtful. Some things seemed odd, such as knowing that the police, while they were as pleasant as everybody else, were carrying guns.
