I exclusively ate European chocolate. A few months ago, when I moved back home, my dad took my sister and I to the movies. I got a box of, what was once, one of my favourite chocolate candies, Whoppers chocolate covered malted milk balls. Disgusting. The chocolate felt like plastic on my tongue, I had to spit it out, and the malted milk ball was indescribably terrible. Something had to be wrong with that box, maybe it’s expired, I thought, afterall, Maltessers never gave me that experience. But, it kept happening, almost every time I ate something with American chocolate, the chocolate had a plastic like element to it.
